Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better known by her stage name of Ari Lennox, is an American singer and musician from Washington, D.C., who was the first female to sign with J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. Her first single was released on the label on October 21st, 2016, titled Pho. This is when she began gaining recognition. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio release was May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox first uploaded music online in 2012. Her debut album Ariography and debut mixtape in 2013 with five Finger Discount. In 2014, she dropped additional music on the internet including Bound. She was featured in Omen's Elephant Eyes, in Sweat It Out July 21st the 21st of July, 2015. J. Cole asked her to work with him on Rihanna's references. Then, later in the year, her music circulated around Dreamville. On December 8 it was confirmed that she had been signed to Dreamville Records. On the record Revenge of the Dreamers II She was on the track Backseat alongside Cozz. On the 21st of October in 2016, the EP Pho debuted. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's hit song Change and was an opening act on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. In 2018, she performed as a guest performer on two songs, with the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song and Bas's Icarus. The 16th of July, 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single Whipped Cream on her first album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video that was released on the 5th of September. In November, she dropped two additional singles titled 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. In November 2013, she dropped No One, and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released in her debut single February 26, 2019 for the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby appeared with Cole on her Creed II sound track on the 16th of November. It was released with an accompanying music video that debuted in February 20th, 2019 and surpassed 3 million views via YouTube within its first seven days. The singer was a part of 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour at the end of December 2018.
